Diathonite Evolution is a sprayable thermal plaster made of recycled cork, clay, diatomaceous earth and natural hydraulic lime. At λ 0.045 W/mK it insulates as it renders, adding R 0.222 per centimetre. The unique formulation keeps it breathable, anti-mould and A1 fire-rated. Suitable for interior or exterior and certified for historic restorations. Finish with Argatherm,, Argacem, Plaster paint, lime paint or Acrilid.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is Diathonite Evolution made of?
It's a natural blend of cork, clay, and hydraulic lime — sustainably sourced and BCorp certified. No synthetic binders or petrochemicals.

Can it be used in basements or high-moisture areas?
Yes — its breathability and salt-resistance make it ideal for basements, bathrooms, and older homes with moisture issues.

How thick should it be applied?
Typically 15–30 mm, depending on insulation needs. Can be applied in multiple layers.

Can it be used on exterior walls?
Yes — but it must be protected with a compatible topcoat like Argacem or Decork.

Is it suitable for heritage buildings?
Yes — its vapor permeability makes it perfect for historic masonry that needs to "breathe" to prevent damage.

    Do I need a primer?
    It depends on the substrate.
Use Aquabond on smooth, non-absorbent surfaces (e.g., concrete, painted walls). Not needed on absorbent masonry.

    How is it installed?
By hand trowel or spray machine. We recommend professional installation for large projects.

    Is it fire-resistant?
    Yes — classified as A1 (non-combustible) under EN 13501-1.
