What is Acriflex Pro used for?
It's a high-performance liquid waterproofing membrane for roofs, terraces, and asbestos encapsulation. Ideal for extreme weather and UV exposure.
Can it be used on asbestos surfaces?
Yes — Acriflex Pro meets safety standards for encapsulating cement asbestos when used with Acriflext Primer, providing a durable, compliant solution.
Is it UV-resistant?
Yes — it withstands prolonged UV exposure without degradation.
Do I need a primer?
It depends on the substrate.
Use SBS-Bond when:
- Waterproofing smooth bituminous or slated membranes
→ SBS-Bond is the recommended primer for these surfaces to ensure strong adhesion and long-term performance.
(As stated in the technical description: “suitable for waterproofing and restoration of smooth bituminous or slated membranes in combination with the SBS-bond primer”)
Use Grip Primer when:
- Applying over metal surfaces or existing floors
→ Grip Primer ensures strong bonding to non-absorbent substrates.
Use Acriflex Primer when:
- Encapsulating asbestos-cement surfaces (Type A, B, or C)
→ Acriflex Primer is essential for sealing fibers before applying Acriflex Pro for full waterproofing and compliance.
No primer is needed when:
- Applying to concrete, cement board, masonry, tile, or fibrocement slabs
→ Acriflex Pro bonds directly to these substrates when clean, sound, and properly prepared.
How is it applied?
By brush, roller, squeegee, or spray gun. Two coats recommended.
Can it be used in cold weather?
Yes — it remains flexible down to -25°C, making it ideal for Canadian winters.
As Waterproofing: 2 kg/m² (0.41 lb/ft²)
For asbestos encapsulation: 1 kg/m² (0.21 lb/ft²)
Suitable for all substrates and surfaces
- For smooth bituminous or slated membranes must be used in combination with the SBS-bond primer
- For use on existing floors or metal surfaces must be used with Grip Primer
