Application
How to Apply Microcement
- Prepare the Surface
Make sure the surface is clean, stable and free of dust or oils. Fill grout lines deeper than 3 mm and plywood seams with Ardex X5 first. - Prime or Seal
- Use WATstop on concrete and in wet areas like showers: 1 kg/m², or 2 kg/m² on damp concrete (5% moisture or more) and concrete in wet areas
- Use Grip Primer on drywall, cement board, painted walls, plywood, metal, laminate and dry-area tile - Apply Decorkrete
Trowel on two coats, 2 mm in total, 4–6 hours apart. Start within 24–48 hours of the last WATstop coat, never later than 48 hours. - Sand
Wait 24 hours after the second coat, then sand with 80–120 grit, vacuum, damp-wipe and let it dry. - Apply D20
Roll on one coat of D20 at 0.15 kg/m² and let it dry about 3 hours. - Seal the Surface
Apply Aquafloor Eco in three coats, 2 hours apart, the first diluted 30% with water. It is walkable after 24 hours; keep water and detergents off it for 5–7 days.
