One coat on the sanded Decorkrete evens out absorption so the sealer goes on smooth.

The final protective layer. Three matte coats keep your system looking seamless for years to come.

Everything you need to know about microcement before starting your project.
Yes, with one step first. Sound painted drywall takes Grip Primer, a bonding bridge with real grit in it, so the system grabs a smooth surface it could not otherwise hold. After that the coats build like on any wall. Flaking paint or damaged board gets sorted before anything goes on.
Tile is a legitimate substrate. It gets a light sanding, grout lines filled flush with Ardex X5 so they never telegraph through, and then the system builds over it. The tile stays, the look goes.
It is a cement surface under a sealed finish, so daily life is what it is built for. Scuffs wipe off the sealed face, and the surface has no seams or joints to catch dirt. Treat it like any fine wall finish: clean with mild soap, skip harsh abrasives.
Both, with the right stack for the exposure. Interior walls are the everyday build; exterior walls change the prep and protection, which is exactly what the System Builder and Atlas sort when you tell them where the wall lives.
Microcement can be applied to virtually any stable surface including concrete, tile, drywall, plywood, and existing countertops. The surface must be clean, solid, and properly primed. Our Grip Primer ensures excellent adhesion to most substrates.
Yes, when properly sealed with our Aquafloor Eco sealer. This makes it perfect for showers, bathrooms, kitchens, and even swimming pools. The sealer creates an impermeable barrier that protects against water damage.
The complete microcement system is only 2-3mm thick. This means you can apply it over existing surfaces without significantly raising floor heights or affecting door clearances.
While experienced DIYers can achieve good results, microcement application does require skill and attention to detail. We offer training and support for DIY projects. Our System Builder includes everything you need with detailed instructions.
A typical bathroom or small project takes 4-5 days to complete, including proper curing time between coats. Larger projects may take longer. The process includes primer, base coats, finish coats, and sealer - each requiring drying time.
Decorkrete is available in 6 standard colors. Custom color matching is also available for specific project requirements.
