What surfaces can I apply this system to?

• tile (with special consideration)
• cement board (like Durock or HardieBacker)
• green board (moisture-resistant drywall)
• waterproofing boards like Schluter-KERDI
• plywood

The surface must be clean, solid, and dry.

Can I apply it over tile?
Yes—but make sure the tiles are secure. Lightly sand the surface to scuff glaze, clean well. Depending on the depth of the grout lines a filling mortar coat may be needed.

What is the total thickness of Decorkrete?
The total thickness of Decorkrete is 2-3 mm applied in two coats (1-1.5 mm/coat)

How thick is the microcement?
Each coat is about 1 mm thick. Most showers need two coats of Decorkrete.

How long does each step take to dry?

• WATstop: 24 hours between coats and before microcement
• Decorkrete: 6 hours after first coat, 24 hours after second coat
• Aquafloor Eco: 1–2 hours between coats; fully cured after 24 hours
  

What is the working time once products are mixed?

• WATstop and Aquafloor Eco: Use within 2 hours of mixing
• Decorkrete: Use within 15–25 minutes (you can remix briefly to extend it by a few minutes)
  

What tools do I need?

• Bucket and paddle mixer
• Stainless steel trowel with rounded edges
• Rollers (short haired and foam)
• Sand paper
• PPE

What if my second coat of Decorkrete looks uneven?
No problem—let it dry, sand it smooth, and apply another thin coat if needed. It’s a forgiving material and variation gives it a more organic look.
