Water-Based Primer for Asbestos Surfaces
This single-component, water-based impregnating primer is specifically designed for treating asbestos-containing surfaces. It is an essential preparatory product to be used in conjunction with waterproofing solutions like Acriflex Pro or Acriflex Rapido. Its primary function is to prevent the dispersion of asbestos cement fibers, thereby making them safer to remove or coat later on.
The primer's formulation allows for straightforward application by airless sprayer or roller, requiring only one coat to effectively secure the fibers and prepare the surface for further treatment. This makes it an indispensable tool for safely managing asbestos-containing materials in renovation and maintenance projects.

What is Acriflex Primer used for?
It's a water-based primer designed to seal and stabilize asbestos-cement surfaces, preventing fiber dispersion during encapsulation or removal.
Can it be used alone?
Yes — Acriflex Primer can be used alone for certain asbestos encapsulation applications, specifically:
- Type D – Auxiliary: When the asbestos-cement surface does not require full waterproofing but still needs fiber stabilization and protection.
For Type A, B, and C interventions (visible outside, visible inside, or not visible), Acriflex Primer should be followed by Acriflex Pro or Acriflex Rapido for full waterproofing and long-term protection.
Do I need it for asbestos encapsulation?
Yes — it’s essential for safely sealing asbestos fibers before applying the waterproofing membrane.
Is it breathable?
Yes — it’s vapor-permeable, making it suitable for use in moisture-sensitive environments.
How is it applied?
By brush, roller, or spray gun. One coat is typically sufficient.
Is it safe for workers?
Yes — it’s solvent-free and low-VOC, reducing health risks during application.
