Polites 80 is a high-strength fiberglass mesh designed as reinforcement for skim coatings and liquid waterproofing systems. It prevents and controls the formation of cracks and micro-fissures by effectively distributing tensions caused by shrinkage phenomena and thermal changes. The mesh's 4.0 x 4.2mm stitch size is specifically engineered to work seamlessly with Diathonite thermal and acoustic plasters.
With high tensile strength in both warp and weft directions (>700 N/5cm), Polites 80 provides the system with adequate capacity to withstand impacts while contrasting stresses from temperature fluctuations. Alkali-resistant and easy to apply, this multipurpose reinforcement mesh is essential for creating durable, crack-free facades on insulated wall systems.

What is Polites 80 used for?
Polites 80 is a fiberglass reinforcement mesh embedded in skim coat systems to prevent cracks and micro-fissures. It distributes stress from shrinkage, thermal movement, and structural settling, ensuring long-term durability of plastered facades.
Do I need to use mesh on all plastered surfaces?
Polites 80 is essential when applying skim coats over Diathonite insulation plasters and is highly recommended for any large plastered surfaces, areas prone to cracking, and zones around openings (windows, doors). It should always be used in stressed areas.
How much overlap is required?
Maintain a minimum 10-15 cm overlap at all joints where mesh pieces meet. This ensures continuous reinforcement without weak points where cracks could form.
How is Polites 80 applied?
Apply in a sandwich system: first layer of plaster, embed mesh in fresh plaster ensuring no bubbles or curls, then apply second layer fully embedding the mesh. The mesh must be completely covered with no exposed areas.
Can it be used with products other than Diathonite?
Yes. While optimized for Diathonite systems, Polites 80 can be used with various skim coats, plasters, and liquid waterproofing systems. Always follow the technical guidelines of the coating product being used.
Is it alkali-resistant?
Yes. Polites 80 is alkali-resistant, making it compatible with lime-based plasters and cement-based systems without degradation over time.
How do I store unused mesh?
Store in well-ventilated areas, protected from direct sunlight, water, and frost. Keep at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C. Shelf life is 24 months in original packaging.
Per Roll: 50 m² roll
